Most Days...
Most days I can take anything the kids throw at me with patience and a heavy dose of sedatives. Most days I can dodge Noah’s temper, which result in flying toys and limbs, with grace. Most days I can embrace Izzie’s dramatics, which result in sobbing and brooding, with a sense of calm. Most days I can clean the house like a ninja without letting two chaotic tornadoes leave a...

Necessary Action
The children have not been getting enough sleep for the past two weeks. They refuse to nap, fall asleep late and wake up early. We know what happens when we don’t get enough sleep. They’re like two little ticking bombs walking around. Fine one minute, Kaboom! the next. They have been relatively healthy and they play hard every day. They should be tired. Correction. They are...
As you can see from the first few pictures, Noah was not happy about being all bundled up. Once we got outside he calmed down and had a great time playing in the snow. He went down the slide and Izzie made snow angels. We had a snow fight and went for a walk with the sled.
As much fun as we had, one time was enough and I’m ready for spring. Bring it.
Happy-Happy-Joy-Joy
I played the piano for an hour tonight. It was lovely and soothed my soul. After being up all night, I am ready to tuck myself in bed and put a pillow over my face until I fall asleep. Kris and I took the kids to Autorama today it was sweet and not just because there were no major meltdowns. My brother Josh had his table set up there and there were tons of cool pieces on display. If you want...
I'm so over this...
You may have noticed I changed the layout. I haven’t been using Tumblr that long and I’m still messing around with it. If you don’t like it let me know and I’ll…tell you that’s too bad because I can change it to whatever I want.
I am so over winter. I was over winter before it even began. Kris loves the snow. He’s in heaven right now. He got the...
Here are some pictures from Izzie’s birthday party. I realized that I had only taken a few pictures with my phone so I grabbed some pictures off of a few other’s phones. Izzie had so much fun and truly felt like a princess. I’m not sure what was up with her smile. She looked a little out of it. I think she may have been hanging out with Travis, a.ka. Mr. Napkin Head, too...
Can I make guacamole if I squish this avocado?
“What a weekend. My body hasn’t caught up yet. It’s still laying in a pile with the mounds of laundry downstairs.”
I wrote that on Monday with the intention of writing all about Izzie’s birthday weekend bash. Don’t be concerned…I’m not molding in a pile of laundry downstairs. I do have several piles of laundry, not molding, waiting to be...
No sun for you!
This morning my children woke up on the wrong side of a bed of nails in hell. No, I’m not exaggerating. It was that bad. They literally rolled out of bed with smoke coming off them and still feeling the sting of metal. The first thing Noah did was yell at the sun. “No sun! Too bright! Go away!” Meanwhile, Izzie was sitting on the bathroom floor with her arms crossed and a...
Colds inside and outside
I disinfect. I spray the house with my homemade blends of different essential oils to keep the germs at bay. I regularly wash the bedding and sheets. I regularly wash my babies. I make sure we get plenty of vitamin C and drink lots of ice water, which happens to be the babies favorite drink. Did I mention my babies are weird. All they every want is ice water. I love it, yet sometimes I have...
Facts & Confessions
FACT: Noah is very sad when he doesn’t feel well.
CONFESSION: He also lets me rock him and is extra cuddly, which I love.
FACT: Noah is extremely independent and one of his favorite phrases is, “I do it.” I love this about him and encourage him to do things for himself.
CONFESSION: After twenty trips to the bathroom to grab a tiny piece of toilet paper, wipe his nose, and...
