We left yesterday for our last trip out west for the summer. On the way, we stopped in Walled Lake to visit my sister Gracie. She bought the kids giant coloring books and crayons and the movie ‘Little Rascals’. We went swimming in between the storms and Gracie’s boyfriend came over for dinner. We had parmesan chicken, pasta and stuffed mushrooms. It was delicious. The kids camped out in their sleeping bags on one side of Gracie’s bed. They had to be near each other because it was a new place and Izzie said, “She was nervous to sleep by herself.” This morning the kids watched ‘Little Rascals’. Noah said his favorite character is Darla.
We arrived at my parents this afternoon. Nana and Papa had a huge surprise for the kids. With eyes closed, Izzie and Noah were led them out to the garage where two kid size bicycles were waiting for them. They don’t have training wheels on them but the kids jumped right on. I just need to get them helmets and they can practice to their hearts content. Once they know how to ride them, we’re going to take them on the bike trail by my parents house. It’s a four mile trail that goes all the way into town.
We got a quick swim in before a nasty storm popped up. Uncle Jojo was home when we got there, but the kids were equally ecstatic when Uncle Travis got home from work. He showed off some of his new tricks in the pool. I think he’s part fish. We had dinner and the kids chilled in the living room with their toys before an early bedtime. There have been a lot of tired dramatics and behavior the last few days, so I really hope they sleep well tonight.
I don’t blog as much when I’m at my parents because the internet is a bit slow and unreliable. Spending time with family, catching up with friends, and putting together two birthday parties for Noah will keep me busy for the next week. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and catches some of the Summer Olympics.
Over and Out..
